We’re celebrating after scooping silver at the Devon Tourism Awards 2017.
Our delightful 7-bedroom seaside pub was awarded Silver in the Tourism Pub of the Year category and was also Highly Commended in the Small Hotel/Boutique Accommodation category at last night’s ceremony at Plymouth’s Guildhall, hosted by Britain’s leading travel commentator, Simon Calder.
Landlord Nigel Heath commented: “We’re thrilled to have won yet another award. A massive well done to the whole of the Cricket team. You’re amazing and it’s truly deserved.”
Accepting the award, Manager Stuart Downie added: “To be awarded silver for the whole of Devon is a massive achievement. The owners Rachel and Nigel have heavily invested in the pub over the last 16 years so it’s great to get some recognition for their hard work.”
“Just in the last year we’ve installed a brand new Josper grill in the kitchen, upgraded two of our bedrooms with bespoke four-poster beds, installed a new sound system and the list goes on!” added Stuart.
The award comes just a month after picking up Gold at the South Devon and English Riviera Tourism Awards and retaining our AA rosette for 9 years running.
This year the Devon Tourism Awards saw a record of 205 entries and an increase to 25 categories in the competition which is now in its 8th year following its launch in 2010.
